We say
This is the first kids album to come from the well-known Hillsong Church in Australia. It is a good and worthy attempt at making an original kids album with a ‘grown-up’ style of song and quality production. With a ‘pop chart’ feel it succeeds well in this respect. However, there is not enough variety in the songs and few of them have the instant ‘wow’ factor, although we commend the fact that all the tracks were new to us. The title track is good enough for use in your children’s meetings and we also liked ‘King of Majesty’. You will probably find one or two of the other tracks useful too. A good album to buy for home and car where you can let the songs grow on you.
In summary, Hillsong Kids is to be applauded for its new approach to children’s worship. This is a decent album, but if they find the ‘wow’ songs, then the follow up to this CD could be awesome…
